Pastor's Prayer Summits
A Pastor's Prayer Summit is specifically taylored for pastors in the same geographic area. The vision is that by allowing a space for them to get away and have a profound experience with God and other pastors, they will be able to turn and take that experience and impact their congregation which in turn can have a greater impact in their community. Thus, a Pastor's Prayer Summit can have a profound effect on an area. Below are links to some of the Pastor's Prayer Summits that have taken place. Each page includes testimonies of pastors who have participated in these Pastor's Prayer Summits.
Testimonies:
“This prayer summit deepened relationships with brothers I have already known. It also initiated some new relationships with pastors that I have known only in passing. It was refreshing for me to listen to what the Lord is doing in Grays Harbor. I found the informal conversation around the table at meals to be encouraging and renewing—talk about what the Lord is doing in the lives of individuals, laughing together, etc. It was good to get away for a retreat/summit that I didn’t have to lead, but could be a participant in. I found the DVD-the Quickening-to be very inspirational and the prayer time later in small groups (where we prayed about the principles and obstacles) to be a very helpful experience in processing what we heard on the DVD. Praying for the Lord’s blessing on the Grays Harbor county people, government and businesses and churches/pastors, that couldn’t be here/were not here, for whatever reason was a joy.” – Retired Lutheran pastor
“At this summit I came discouraged and I left encouraged! I saw principles for future ministry. I met and bonded with a brother who was new to the area. I had at least one positive personal interaction with everyone who came. I got to know at least one deep personal struggle with everyone who came. I gained some weight, but not as much as previous Prayer Summits. I experienced the Lord’s presence in my life in a depth not experienced in many months.” – An Elder in an Elder run church
“At the Prayer Summit God healed me from fears of stepping out to enlarge the Vision of God for me. He established how He will direct me to another spiritual father in Aberdeen/Grays Harbor County. God made a way for me to reconnect totally to Him and to depend on Him for direction of our (HIS) ministry. God showed me that I need to stay within what He sent me to do in the Harbor, and not to reinvent something that other ministries are doing, but direct those who I come in contact with to other resources and stick with My Calling. The Prayer Summit encouraged me to Stand!” – a Sr. Pastor
“Thank you Almighty God because you move among us. I personally am suddenly aware of you working powerfully in 175 cities world-wide in true revival. You have injected faith in my heart. It can happen here because you are who you are. We are suddenly concerned with your agenda, and not so concerned with our own. And God, bless You for the revelation of what my marriage could be if you were in all of it, not just the public side. I can hardly wait to get home to begin a real walk of faith with my wife and not in spite of her. It seems to me that this change will impact my son’s marriage as they see the change. Thank you for these super guys and two gals who I will treasure as family and friends—not strangers or unimportant shadow figures floating through my life. They have become dearer. We have been blessed by the Bible camp and the staff. They cared for us with servants hearts. I love you.” – a pastor who is finally beginning to get the picture.
“God made me more aware of the bond of fellowship that I have with these servant leaders of Grays Harbor. I became convicted to make sure that any negative reference to the leaders was squelched immediately. Living as I do in a rural area, I have had a small view of my world. And because of this time I have had a greater understanding of this world. My view has been enlarged. It has increased my faith and trust in the sovereignty of God.” – a servant leader of a community church
“Thank you Lord for picking up my bruised, battered, stained and wounded heart out of the pig sty it was sinking in. Then you took the most precious and most valuable perfume and broke it and poured out if it the rarest and purest anointing, which I cannot even comprehend, and cleansed my heart. Continue, Lord, to change my appearance from the inside out like you did with Moses. As he came down from the mountain the radiance of you shown through him and the people knew that he looked upon the face of you. May I be a Moses, Lord, faithful, obedient, and seeking after your face.”
“This week I was encouraged by the Lord. I was encouraged by relationships with HMF pastors and leaders who prayed for me. I was somewhat undecided and came feeling vulnerable after being involved with a church split. God has met me in areas of healing emotions, camaraderie and courage and has given me new visions and creative thoughts. My creativity has been gone for over 3 years. My prayer life is strengthened. Jesus is first in my life. Others are more important to me. The ministry to reach Grays Harbor is refreshed in my heart. I have been encouraged to mentor my own son and future son’s in law.” – a church elder
“Through this particular Prayer Summit, God has done several things for me: 1) He has rekindled the vision He has given me. 2) He has given me a renewed passion for lost souls. 3) He has given me a way to encourage others in ministry. 4) He is knitting Dell Johnson and me together to reach Aberdeen and pastor Destiny of Hope Christian Fellowship. 5) He has renewed my courage in ministry.” – Pastor Donald F. Thornburg
“At this summit I had several conversations with people that dovetailed with what I had been praying about: matters of church government, ideas of ministry plans that were compatible and very likely could be done together rather than individually, refreshed vision for the world and encouragement that the Lord is indeed actively working through humble, holy servants to do his will on earth.” – a lead church elder
“God has shown me a great need for corporate prayer in the church where I pastor. Every member of our body needs to be spiritually engaged in fervent prayer for the ministry community and homes in our county. I believe God is truly looking for a people that will stand in the gap.” – Jim MacCormack, Alder Grove Church of God
“At this Prayer Summit God has strengthened links amongst other Leaders and Pastors, renewed my vision for my City/Community/World, given me new friendships, encouraged me to see leaders impacted, encouraged and embraced, caused me to appreciate sharing burdens and praying for each other. I feel refreshed and stronger because I came.” – a community church pastor
“Lord Jesus thank you for refreshment, thank you Lord, this was a time of intervening in my life. Thank you for a new love for you and a new vision for prayer in our church. Thank you Lord for my friends who intervened for me to your throne. Thank you Jesus for an opportunity to pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you Lord for filling me with your love, by dumping your word into me. Thank you Lord for an opportunity to magnify and glorify your name. Thank you for your vision of revival in my life and for our community and church. We praise you Lord that this week we drank from your eternal word. We praise you Jesus for the burdens you lifted off us. We thank you Lord for a time to meditate on your greatness, your creation, and the intervention of your son. We praise you Jesus for what you did for us on the cross and because of that you were able to call us by the Gospel. Thank you Lord for especially touching my spirit and for filling me when I felt drained, discouraged and in despair and filling me with the joy of the Lord. Lord you are an awesome God.” – a Lutheran pastor
“Lord, I thank You for freeing me from the heart and the discouragement that has overtaken my life over the last few months. Thank You for reassuring my decision to leave and move on to greener pastures. I thank you for these men who have lifted me up and encouraged me and given me words of wisdom. Thank you for the fellowship and the fullness of Your Spirit in this place. This is my third Prayer Summit and for many reasons it will be the most meaningful. I was so glad it came at this time and has refreshed my hope that God is always working around change in peoples lives. God just send me where You want me to be and use me to grow Your kingdom, by Your power, and for Your glory. I also pray for my wife, encourage her and give her a forgiving heart. Thanks for this time, I really needed it.” – Lonny Scott, recently resigned pastor
“At this Prayer Summit God has restored my hope for our area/region. God has challenged me, in terms of moving toward biblical transformation. God has deepened the quality of relationships with fellow laborers. God has brought to me refreshment and encouragement. God has opened His Word as ‘a lamp unto my feet.’ God the Father has sharpened my focus on Jesus! God has quickened my prayer life.” – a pastor
